Alamut
castle embraces an adventurous history of pugnacious Ismealis lived in the
famous fortress known as “The Eagle’s Den”. The historical route of Salambar is
also placed along this wonderful mountainous and at the same time sylvan region
and make this area one of the appropriate places for trekking and being familiar
with the ancient history and the nature of Iran.
The minor
valleys in east and west of Alamut in Qazvin Province are located between the
two mounts of Shah Alborz from south and Sialan from its north. Alamut valley is
a deep and rough valley which includes a roaring river and some scattered
villages.
The city of
Qazvin is linked to the center of Alamut (Moalem Kelayeh) through an asphalt
road after crossing the high pass of Qestin in Lar region.
In order to
start the tour, we will pass through this road and after passing Moalem Kelayeh),
we will continue our route toward Garmaroud village at the end of Alamut valley
on a dirt road.
We will stay
in Salambar village at the first night and leave there early in the morning to
continue our route toward the shrine of Imamzadeh Zakaria.
Continuing
our route in the valley, we will stay the second night in Sarpol Tea House and
become familiar with the kind old owner of the shop.
We will
leave this romantic atmosphere back to Tonekabon by car.
P.S. This route is really an
astonishing green land and due to its geographical location, the participants
should necessarily bring waterproof accessories with themselves.
