Houz Dal Markazi Summit (Dena Mountain)

Dena Mountain is a part of Zagros Mountain ranges which extend from northwest to the southeast of Iran. It has shared its borders with Isfahan province from north and east and with Kohgiluyeh va Boyer Ahmad province from west and with Fars province from southwest. In Spring and Summer the nomads move to the north of Dena.

 

Itinerary

 

Day 1: Move from Shiraz to Sisakht and stay overnight there.

 

Day 2: At 7 am, move from Sisakht to the Cheshmeh Pooneh Shelter (about 7 hours hiking). In winter usually two third of the valley is covered with snow. You will have a rest after one and half hour climbing when we reach Toof Kalancheh spring. The other rest will be defined on the way based on the snow and climatic condition. We will stay overnight in the Cheshmeh Pooneh shelter.

 

Day 3: At 7 am, move toward Houz Dal Markazi summit (about 2 hours hiking), then return to the shelter and have lunch there. We will then return to Sisakht and be there till sunset and finally leave there to Shiraz.

 

P.S.

1. The times mentioned in the itinerary can be changed due to some unexpected climatic conditions.

2. Hiking to the summit will be done only if the weather is suitable and the participants have the ability to do that.
